Today in class we made our final poetry analysis papers. To make mine better, I included more about the artist and added more details to my thoughts on the main idea.

Action plan.
1) Find out more about artist. 2) Find deeper meaning in the text 3) Add more to paragraphs "The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter."
1) What does this quote mean? 2)Do you agree? Why or why not? I think it means that we should stop physically fighting and make people laugh instead of making people hurt. I agree because there are so many people dying and it's just tragic. I think that she assigned us two because it will help us learn how to find a deeper meaning behind the words of a song or poem. I also think that analyzing improves our experience because it gives us deeper meaning.
I thought that this experience was very emotional and helped us see what people feel about certain things. It helped us learn about a very different style of writing. I personally liked this because it helped us see what people are going through. Although it was very hard for me to hear some poems because they were personal and emotional.
1)Which poem did you find the most effective? What about it stuck to your memory? A lot of poems were very memorable but I think that Liz's was the most memorable because she is a very close friend and hearing about what she feels about life especially when she wants to end it was very emotional for me. 2)What poem qualities did you find ineffective? Explain. One that bothered me the most was if you don't speak loud enough. It bothered me because when you present you want to be heard and if you aren't heard then you can't be graded. 3)What did you think about the role of emotions in the classroom? Is being emotional part of a school's responsibility or should students be protected by having to deal with other student's emotions? Explai. |
